Jim Mayberry -- claimed service with the 24th TN Inf. when he applied for a pension under the "The Negros' pension law" passed by the State of Tennessee to aid indigent African Americans who had served with the Confederate forces during the war (usually as slaves serving with their masters). The disposition of this application is unknown.
